Quality Roofline Solutions Designed to Protect Your Property

Fascias and soffits are essential components of your roofline, helping protect the edges of your roof while contributing to the overall appearance and performance of your property. Fascia boards are fitted along the lower edge of the roof, where they provide a fixing point for the guttering system. Soffits are installed underneath the roof overhang, helping enclose the eaves and protect the roof structure from exposure to the elements.
When these components become damaged, cracked or deteriorated, they can affect more than just the appearance of your home. Defective roofline boards may allow moisture to reach underlying timber, create problems around gutter fixings and contribute to unwanted gaps where birds or pests could enter. Inadequate ventilation around the eaves can also contribute to condensation problems within the roof space.

Protect Your Roof Structure and Prevent Costly Damage with a Well-Maintained Roofline

Fascias and soffits help shield the vulnerable edges of your roof from rain, wind and general weather exposure. Over time, timber boards can rot, painted surfaces can deteriorate and older materials may become cracked or loose. If these problems are ignored, moisture can reach the underlying roof structure, while weakened fascia boards may no longer provide secure support for your guttering.
Maintaining your roofline helps preserve the condition of your property and can prevent minor defects from developing into more extensive repairs. Replacing worn or damaged boards with suitable modern materials can also improve the appearance of your home and reduce ongoing maintenance requirements

A top roofer. We had various roofers failing to repair our gulleys and had a persistent leak. James found the cause of our leak and repaired that. He repaired the gulleys with flexible sides to handle the temperature changes. He guaranteed his work. Very responsive. Friendly team. Highly recommended.

We needed our roof replacing due to leaks and damaged tiles. We knew it was going to be a lot of work and after having a string of dodgy roofers do work at our house we were nervous but we shouldn't have been. Moston Roofing were brilliant, the work quality was superb, they communicated ever step of the way and they were very friendly which made the disruption of a roof replacement a lot easier to deal with. I would highly recommend Moston Roofing!

If only all tradespeople held themselves to James' does! He's been twice now and done good work at reasonable prices. He also didn't attempt to increase the size of the job by telling me I needed more done than I actually did.

We reached out to James at Moston Roofing following some leaks on our valleys due to a poor quality new roof by the previous owners. From previous experience with roofing work, I wanted a proper job, so looked for companies registered with the confederation of roofing contractors, and came across Moston Roofing. James popped round and explained a few approaches, trying to minimise costs for us while doing a proper job in unpredictable autumn weather. We had a couple of other quotes and Moston came out competitively priced, and James clearly knew his stuff. I read the reviews on Which, Checkatrade etc and my only concern was that all the 5* ratings seemed too good to be true! However... Moston absolutely delivered on the job, managing to fit us in 2 weeks earlier due to a cancellation and our pressing needs to fix the leaks. They worked in a tidy manner and replaced the lead valleys promptly, and gave us a few options along the way. They also replaced our front guttering and downpipes, which was a bit complex due to the shape and roof height. James has popped back a couple of times to double check the mortar had set and gutters are draining, to ensure that they have done a job to last. He is a great communicator and very honest and easy to work with. I would use again without question... but would rather not have a 3rd roof to fix!

The team was polite professional, efficient, and clearly skilled, completing the job on time and with minimal disruption. They took care to clean up thoroughly afterward, and the quality of the repointing is excellent, and I feel confident in the quality of the work. I’d highly recommend Moston Roofing Ltd for anyone in need of reliable roofing services!

Common Roofing Questions, Answered Honestly

Roofing is a trade where it’s hard to know what a fair price or a fair diagnosis looks like. Here are the questions we get asked most in Stockport, with straight answers.

What is the difference between fascias and soffits?
Fascias are the boards fitted along the lower edge of your roof, where they commonly provide support for guttering. Soffits sit underneath the roof overhang, closing the gap between the exterior wall and the roof edge. Both components help protect the roofline and contribute to the appearance and performance of your property.
The cost depends on the size and design of your roofline, the materials selected, the condition of the existing boards and the access required. Replacing a short damaged section will generally cost less than a complete roofline replacement. Moston Roofing can assess your property and provide a written quotation based on the work required.
uPVC fascias and soffits are popular because they generally require less maintenance than painted timber and are available in different colours and finishes. Timber can also be suitable when properly installed and maintained. The best option depends on your property’s appearance, budget and maintenance preferences. We can discuss suitable materials for your roofline. 4. How do I know if my fascias and soffits need replacing?
Common warning signs include rotten timber, cracked boards, peeling paint, loose fixings, sagging fascia sections and recurring problems with gutter attachments. However, some issues may be resolved through localised repairs. A professional assessment can help determine whether repair or replacement is the more practical option.
